About

Hey I’m Sonney Wolfe — Jesus Follower, Mother, Grandma (They Call Me Nona), Teacher, Writer, Widow.

Professionally, I hold a Master of Arts in English, teach academic and professional writing for colleges and universities, and write features, press releases, blog posts, and personal essays for various news and social media.

On a personal note, my husband, Jay, passed unexpectedly on December 19, 2019, and our family’s been moving through this journey called grief ever since.

On this blog I write about that journey, my walk with Christ, and my three adult kids as we move forward in a world without Jay.

WIM (Woman in Motion) is a mantra that helps me remember my value. As a stay-at-home mom, as a student, as a working mom, as an empty-nester, as a widow — in each of my roles — and especially when I have felt tiny, insignificant, and even stagnant — I remind myself that I am a Woman in Motion.

I am always moving forward. I am always on God’s path, and I am faithful that every step, every stumble, every challenge, every tragedy, and (praise God) every victory is shaping me into the woman God designed, and he’s doing it through motion.

I am a WIM – and so are you!

It is my hope to connect with others, to build community, to make new friends, and to share this thing called the human experience.

Thanks for hanging out. 🙂
